It Is Better to Shine the Shoes of Hitler in Paradise Than to Go to Hell

Elder Epiphanios Theodoropoulos (+ 1989) often held discussions with Old Calendarist zealots. His efforts in this was not only at the level of writing on the subject, but also through conversations. This is how one such conversation took place:

"You New Calendarists will not go to Paradise," said a fanatical zealot.

"We will go and with confidence," the Elder responded calmly.

"You will not go and I say it with certainty."

"Of course we will go to Paradise. Why do you doubt that?"

"If you go to Paradise, I don't want to come. I prefer hell."

To this the Elder replied:

"Be careful my child lest you lose your soul. I want to go to Paradise, even if I am the last to enter after the worst person. If God were to put Nero or Hitler in Paradise, may God put me also in Paradise and I will even shine their shoes. What do I care who God will put in Paradise? It is His and He can do whatever He wants with it. It is not for me to say. I want to be saved, and the rest is up to the Lord."
