Saint Gregory of Chryse Petra Monastery

St. Gregory of Chryse Petra (Feast Day - November 24)

Verses

Gregory had Asia as his homeland,
His virtues shined like the sunrise.

Venerable Gregory came from the East and lived in asceticism at the Monastery of Chryse Petra, which is on the border between Pontus and Paphlogonia, close to Ameseia. Chryse Petra, which in Greek means "Golden Rock", was dedicated to the Prophet Elias. Saint Nikodemos the Hagiorite informs us that in his time, he received information from witnesses that Saint Gregory's relics were discovered in the Monastery of Chryse Petra.
