Many many thanks to all those who contributed to match a generous $3000 donation from an anonymous donor. The goal was attained this past weekend. It is because of people like you that the Mystagogy Resource Center can continue to offer unique material to all for free on a daily basis that I hope people find beneficial. For those who still wish to contribute, please do so, with much gratitude in return. God bless you all!

Russian Church Includes Sts. Prophyrios and Nikephoros in Church Calendar

In its last gathering for 2014, the Holy Synod of the Church of Russia gathered on December 25th under the presidency of Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia in the Holy Monastery of Saint Daniel in Moscow.

During the meeting the Holy Synod decided to include in the List of Saints for commemoration both Saint Porphyrios of Kavsokalyva and Saint Nikephoros the Leper.

The Russian Church will celebrate their memory on December 2nd (St. Poprhyrios) and January 4th (St. Nikephoros), just as it was established by the Ecumenical Patriarchate, though the Russian Church follows the reckoning of the Julian Calendar.
