Verses

The two athletes were wounded with sticks*,
Being crowned they found speedy healing.

The Holy Two Martyrs of Phrygia met their end by being beaten with sticks.

* The Greek word for "sticks" here is "βάκλα", which are the sticks used for beating drums.
