Dear Readers and Supporters: Last March I told you about an anonymous long time friend and supporter of this ministry who fell on hard times, and a generous portion of you volunteered to help her financially to prevent her eviction and car repossession. Unfortunately, once again she and her child are in a similar difficult position, though a little bit worse. I hate to see this happen to her and not try to help in any way. Holy New Martyr Nicholas of Mitylene (+ 1771)

St. Nicholas the New Martyr of Mytilene (Feast Day - January 16);

The only thing we know about this New Martyr is that his name was Nicholas and he was associated with the island of Lesvos and its city of Mytilene, and he died a martyr's death on January 16, 1771, which was the same day as the Holy New Hieromartyr Damaskenos of Gambrovo who was martyred in Bulgaria by the Turks.
