Dear Readers and Supporters: Last March I told you about an anonymous long time friend and supporter of this ministry who fell on hard times, and a generous portion of you volunteered to help her financially to prevent her eviction and car repossession. Unfortunately, once again she and her child are in a similar difficult position, though a little bit worse. I hate to see this happen to her and not try to help in any way. St. Archontios the Martyr (Feast Day - September 3)

Verses

Archontios starved and hence was worn out,
The ruler of this world is a noetic lamia.*

The Holy Martyr Archontios met his end by starvation.

* Lamia in ancient Greek mythology was a woman who became a child-eating monster, much like a witch. Here the devil is described as a lamia for devouring the children of God, as opposed to Archontios who starved to death for his love of God.
