Apartment of St. Nektarios in Cairo

During his lifetime, St. Nektarios served the Patriarchate of Alexandria and had his residence there while Bishop of Pentapolis. He was slandered against and deposed from his office by the Patriarchate of Alexandria, but in formal ceremonies his honor was restored in 1998, and in 1999 an entire year was dedicated to him.

Below are some photos of the Patriarchate of Alexandria, inside of which was the apartment of St. Nektarios. It is kept today as a sacred shrine dedicated to the Saint with certain relics and belongings of his, such as his vestments, his episcopal crown, his bed, his monastic schema and his prayer rope.
