Mr. Sotiris and Mrs. Stavroula

By the Broadcasting Team of 24 HOURS

February 25, 2021

Today we were saddened to learn of the death of Mr. Sotiris.

A man who was with his wife Mrs. Stavroula, one of the protagonists of the first episodes of 24 HOURS three seasons ago. Mr. Sotiris and Mrs. Stavroula, two poor people with many health problems were faced with stigma and exclusion due to their disabilities.

This paraplegic man and blind woman decided one day to move forward with their lives together.

Stavroula was confronted by members of her family who told her that due to her blindness she could not start a family especially with a paraplegic.

The couple after winning the first battle then decided to have a child.

Again, they were confronted with expressions and behavior such as "your child will be born with problems and you will not be able to offer him a decent life."

Then again they were stubborn, one had his sight and the other had her feet and they brought into the world their only Mario whom they raised with principles and values.

Mr. Sotiris departed today for the long journey and we are sure that God will classify him [among the saints].

Farewell Mr. Sotiris, courage Mrs. Stavroula and Mario.

Be well and always remember a MAN with every meaning of the word.

The funeral will take place on Saturday, February 27 at 10:30 in the morning at the Church of Saint Spyridon in the settlement of Strovolos 2.

Condolences at the church at 10:00.
