This specific video was recorded through a cell phone camera on the day before Epiphany Day on January 6th (according to the Old Julian Calendar; on January 18 according to the Revised Julian Calendar) in 2006, during the blessing of the waters which takes place every year on the same day at the Jordan, in the very same area where Jesus Christ himself was baptized.
This is a recurring annual miracle in the Holy Land on the Feast of Holy Theophany as followed by the Jerusalem Patriarchate. Read Fr. Milovan's article that accompanies the YouTube clip.

Dear John,
ReplyDeleteThank you very much.
I have heard of this miracle the first time, today, when, looking for chants of Theophany in Greek, I opened this site :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s1t5CFClsBk
You can see it here as well : http://sites.google.com/site/orthodoxy1054/to-binteo-pou-parousiazei-to-thauma-ston-iordane-potamo
A small miswriting should be corrected though :
"before Epiphany Day on June 6th" (January, not June, of course)
Can you tell me, please if it is possible (and if so, how) to send this video by e-mail to a friend of mine ? I have an Apple iBook.
Thank you very much.
God bless you.
Thanks for the correction. I can't believe I never saw that. Anyway, here is the link you can send:
