Many many thanks to all those who contributed to match a generous $3000 donation from an anonymous donor. The goal was attained this past weekend. It is because of people like you that the Mystagogy Resource Center can continue to offer unique material to all for free on a daily basis that I hope people find beneficial. For those who still wish to contribute, please do so, with much gratitude in return. God bless you all!

The Metropolitan and the Handicapped Boy

The following photos, provided by IeroVima, were taken on 24 March 2013 during the Festive Hierarchical Great Vespers at the Church of the Dormition of the Theotokos in Glyfada.

A mother brought her wheelchair bound son to church to participate in the feast of the Annunciation. Metropolitan Paul, who was at his episcopal throne, nodded to her to bring her child to him. So she did.

When the boy arrived the Metropolitan gave his episcopal staff to a little girl to hold while he briefly spoke with the boy who smiled with joy, giving him a book to follow the Service. The child sat beside the Metropolitan throughout the duration of the Service.
