The High End of Low

Her eyes,
Her cold empty eyes.
They were reaching into me,
Emptying me.
And it was her,
But it wasn't her.
She was in a circle,
Chanting,
And everything I was,
Was taken from me.
Naked I came from my mother's womb,
And naked shall I return.
The Lord gave,
And the Lord has taken away.
As it seemed good to the Lord,
So also it came to pass.
Blessed be the name of the Lord.
