An Orthodox Community in Western Papua (Photos)

The Patriarchate of Moscow, through the Metropolis' of Australia and New Zealand, is doing missionary work in Western Papua. Fr. Chrysostomos Gasperz leads this mission now for the past few months.

Fr. Chrysostomos has already done catechisms and performed baptisms in the region of Jayapura, Papua and has established the Holy Church of Saint Nicholas, which is still under construction.

Below are published some photos of the Orthodox community of Jayapura, beginning with the baptism of a catechumen, the construction of the church, a Divine Liturgy in the room of a house, as well as others.
