Without financial supporters of the Mystagogy Resource Center, it would not exist. One long time supporter is currently facing a crisis of being evicted from her home and having her car repossessed. She and her family need help by this coming Tuesday to prevent this, at least $2,000 is needed. Please help me to give back to her. She would like to remain anonymous, so she asked that any financial aid can be sent through this ministry, which will then be directed to her. Thank you for helping with what you can. The Roman Revolt of 1821

Fr. Pavlos interviews Athanasios Sakarellos on the so-called "Greek" Revolt of 1821. This program is in Romaic (Greek), but the third video has English subtitles.

Essentially the so-called "Greek" War of Independence was a Roman revolt which had as its aim the restoration of the Roman Empire, especially of its capital in Constantinople. In this sense, it did not fulfill ts mission. On the other hand, it did fulfill the mission of being freed of the Ottoman occupation. With the governing of Greece by foreign powers began the "barbarization" or "europeanization" of Modern Greece and its loss of its historic Roman identity. Patriarch Gregory V foresaw this danger and warned the revolutionaries against the revolt.
