Holy Martyr Archelaos and the One Hundred and Fifty-Two Martyrs With Him

St. Archelaos and the 152 with him (Feast Day - March 5)

Verses

Archelaos ran to be first to give his neck to the sword,
You O people were first to run to be decapitated for the Lord.

The Holy Martyr Archelaos and the One Hundred and Fifty-Two Martyrs with him met their end by the sword.*

Notes:

* The Synaxaria say there were 152 Martyrs, while the Menaia say there were 142 Martyrs.

Some sources say they were martyred in Egypt, while others add the names of Cyril and Photios and say they were martyred in Nicomedia.
