Synaxarion of Holy Martyr Agathodoros of Tyana

St. Agathodoros of Tyana (Feast Day - February 2)

Verses

Agathodoros, a gift according to my reasoning,
Is given as a gift, to God through blood.

Saint Agathodoros, because he confessed Christ to be the true God, was brought before the ruler of the Cappadocian city of Tyana. First they lacerated him, then they placed him on a fiery grill. After this they cut out his tongue, and with a tooth remover they took out his teeth, and with a razor they flayed his skin. They then crushed his legs, and drove a spear through his sides. After this they passed a fiery spit through his membrane. Having sustained these many forms of torments, the life of the renowned one came to an end, and he received from the Lord an unfading crown.
