A Beautiful Sunday of Orthodoxy Tradition

For the day of Orthodoxy, the day of the triumph of the Church, the Sacred Monastery of the Honorable Forerunner in Korakion, Crete has come to celebrate the feast with a procession with the Holy Icons and a Memorial Service for the Defenders of Orthodoxy and of icons during the harsh persecution our Church endured in the eighth and ninth centuries.

In these photos we see the Chancellor of the Metropolis of Kydonia, Archimandrite Damaskenos Lionakis, together with the Abbess of the Sacred Monastery in Korakion, Eldress Agathangeli, preparing the kolyva for the Memorial on the Sunday of Orthodoxy.
