Dear Readers, since I did not meet my fundraising goal a few months ago in the Spring, and currently am facing a bit of a financial burden that may hinder me from working on this website for a while within a few days, I thought it would be best to appeal to your help to meet my goal at this time. My work here depends on your help, so if you find it beneficial or of interest, please send your financial support. It is greatly appreciated.

Goal: $220 or $3000

Elder Timothy Tzannis: On Temperance

By Elder Timothy Tzannis

As the intestine widens, so does our soul distance itself from God.

As the intestine narrows from temperance, the soul dances with the angels.

When the heart is distressed, the abdomen narrows through sacred temperance.

Big stomach, mentally a fool.

Overeating, is the mother of harlotry and oversleeping, the sister of lust.

Adultery fears temperance, as a mouse does a cat.

Wicked desires flee the body of the temperate, in which God dwells continuously.

Temperate body, God's dwelling. Gluttonous body, devil's dominion.
