Greek Chapel Dedicated to the New Saints Paisios, Porphyrios and Iakovos Built Near Turkish Border

On September 29, 2019 a chapel dedicated to the new saints Paisios the Athonite, Porphyrios of Kavsokalyva and Iakovos of Evia was consecrated by Metropolitan Damaskenos of Didymotichon, Orestias and Soufli. The chapel belongs to the Holy Monastery of Hagia Skepi - Saint Paraskevi in Nea Vyssa.

Commenting on the fact that the monastery is only a few hundred meters from the Greek-Turkish border, the Metropolitan noted that "henceforth from today, recruits for the protection of the border of our homeland, besides the Theotokos, will be our saints Paisios, Porphyrios and Iakovos, who arm the border with their prayers and with their intercessions shielding the brave young military of Greece and its tested people...."
