A Miracle of St. George Karslides and the Vow of a Metropolitan

Aimilios Polygenis
November 5, 2014

His Eminence Metropolitan Benedict of Philadelphia came as a devout pilgrim to the feast of Saint George Karslides in Drama.

His Eminence wanted to sincerely thank the celebrated Saint for the miracle given to him recently.

According to information from Romfea.gr, some time ago there appeared a serious problem with his vocal cords.

He visited several eminent physicians, who were unable to find the cause of the problem nor to heal him.

When, upon recommendation from the Abbess of the Sacred Monastery, Eldress Porphyria, he drank Holy Water from the grace-flowing relics of Saint George and after prayer, his throat was healed.

In return to the beneficence of the Saint, he gave a cow to the Monastery on the day of his feast.

The fulfillment of his vow took place today, 4 November 2014, as irrefutably testified by photos.

Let it be noted that His Eminence of Philadelphia was given hospitality in the home of His Eminence Metropolitan Paul of Drama, as they are connected by a friendship of many years.
