|Holy Apostle Hermes of Dalmatia (Feast Day - March 8 and April 8)|
The Holy Apostle Hermes is numbered among the Seventy Apostles, who according to tradition later became Bishop in Dalmatia. He is referenced in Romans 16:14, whom the Apostle Paul greeted by name.
In the Greek calendar he is celebrated by himself on March 8th, while he is generally celebrated on January 4th with the Seventy Apostles as well. On April 8th he is celebrated with other Apostles of the Seventy, and some even place him among the Apostles celebrated on November 5th. He is to be distinguished from the Apostle Hermas, also numbered among the Seventy and mentioned in Romans 16:14, who was the author of The Shepherd and is celebrated on November 5th.
