Plot Outline: Christian monks and nuns appear on film describing and demonstrating their personal prayers of the heart and soul, for the first time ever on film. On a spiritual journey from the Holy lands of Egypt, to Mt. Sinai, Mt. Athos in Greece, Eastern Europe, Ukraine and Russia, Dr. Norris and Father John retrace the steps of ancient pilgrims in search of a word of wisdom from the ancient desert and forest dwellers.
Does this documentary replace the prior one they were working on? Maybe this is what it became?

Great project. The only unforunate thing is what seems to some (at least under the previous title) to be the mixing of Orthodox and non-Orthodox monastic communities (coptics, etc.) without differentiating between the two. This can and does cause confusion to the faithful.
ReplyDeleteYou must be Orthodox to practice Hesychasm. There can be no mixing of the teachings of the heterodox with the Orthodox. Uniates cannot be heyschasts because they have separated themselves from the Orthodox for the teachings of Rome. Rome rejected hesychasm so they have rejected hesychasm also.
